Scanner feeds

Public-safety radio from this county that somebody is streaming online, with what each feed carries.

The police are encrypted here — the feed owners say so in their own listings — so what is streamed is fire, the lifeguards and the CHP. North Comm dispatches the north county’s city fire departments; San Diego’s own fire department and its lifeguards cover La Jolla to Ocean Beach. Start with the lifeguards on the city’s beaches.

Run by volunteers, not by any agency. They play an ad first, run a minute or so behind the radio, and can go quiet without notice; Broadcastify’s page for each one shows whether it is on. Not a way to get help: call 911.
